Hundreds of cataract patiens recuperated thanks to the cataract surgery performed in Ethiopia.
A total of 32 water wells constructions are progressing in Somalia, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Chad, Tanzania, Uganda, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
Harrar regional health director Ahmed Mohammed thanked Tukey and Sadakarasi Association for the surgeries performed after the visitation of patients who came from Gelemso and surrounding areas from the Western Harrar region of Ethiopia and said that one of the biggest problems in the country is cataract treatment.
Haci Dursun Tunc, a member of the Board of Directors of Sadakatasi Association, were in the region for surgeries and made a statement that ''Thousands of people in the region every year lose their sight completely due to cataracts. As an association, we had previously performed cataract surgery on 700 patients in Ethiopia. We made our brothers here feel they were not alone thanks to our recent surgeries."
Untreated cataract disease leads to blindness and occurs due to reasons such as age, undernourishment, prolonged exposure to severe light, eye trauma. Millions of people lose their sight by the reason of can not have a surgery lack of technical and financial impossibilities.
Sadakatasi Association President Kemal Ozdal said made a statement that "in most regions of Asia and Africa, people are suffering from cataract disease for reasons such as nutrition, age, and hygiene. We will focus our work on the treatment of these people later on this year. In Ethiopia, thousands of people lose their sight every year due to cataracts. We performed 420 cataract surgeries, we became the eyes of our brothers and sisters here."
Since 2010 that we founded in, we recuperated thousands of people in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Pakistan thanks to the cataract surgeries.
