The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that 913 have died of Cholera.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) data, 913 people died from the beginning of 2019 to September due to cholera outbreak in Yemen. It’s suspected that 696,537 people were caught the outbreak in the country.
It’s feared that the outbreak will increase
25.5% of the suspected cases are children under 5 years of age. 305 out of 333 districts in Yemen have the epidemic.
There is a concern about the number of people applied to hospitals with suspected the outbreak could increase after the downpours which occurred in Hudeyde, Lahij, IBB, Zemmar and the capital Sana.
Humanitarian crisis in Yemen
Conflict between Iran-backed Houthis and governmental forces are taking place in Yemen, where long-term political instability has prevailed.
Houthis have got control of the capital Sana and some areas since September 2014, while Saudi Arabia-led coalition forces have been supporting the Yemeni government against Houthis since March 2015.
the lack of access to clean water, malnutrition, shortages in medicines and medical supplies, as well as the closure of health centers, have been causing epidemics, particularly cholera in the country which humanitarian plight take place that just the civilians have suffered the consequences as a result of conflicts and airstrikes.
