Our relief team distributed aid to Malian refugees living in Burkina Faso

Haci Veysel, Nimet Yildiz Mosque, where 200 people can pray at the same time was opened in Burkina Faso. Our aid team distributed qurban shares to Malian refugees living in the Madina region under difficult circumstances.

About 2 million people have been forced to leave their houses due to conflicts occurring between armed groups in the border regions of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. Approximately  500,000 Malian citizens have emigrated to the neighboring country of Burkina Faso due to the conflicts. Refugees living in vacant land and camps in the country live deprived of human rights, such as water, food, education, and health. Refugees do not think of a return to Mali because the conflict begins at times.

Aid to Refugees

1,500 Malian refugees staying in the Madina region, a few kilometers from Ouahigouya in northern Burkina Faso, took refuge there because of ethnic conflicts in their country. Our team in the region distributed qurban shares to refugees. We will carry out food and drinking water distributions in the coming days for refugees living under difficult conditions in the region.

The Opening of The Mosque

Haci Veysel, Nimet Yildiz Mosque, which was projected on an area of 110 square meters in Namissiguima, Burkina Faso, where 200 people can worship at the same time, was opened for worship with the participation of the locals.

"Millions of people have become refugees due to ethnic conflicts on the border of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. The needy refugees were distributed qurban shares by our team in Burkina Faso. In the coming days, we will continue relief works for refugees in many fields, especially water and food." said Kemal Ozdal, Chairman of Sadakatasi in a statement.
