We have carried out humanitarian immediate aid to Yemen as the Association.
As an association, we have carried out emergency aid to Yemen, where economic hardship is experienced due to the civil war. As part of the emergency relief works, our association distributed food packages consisting of 25 kg of flour, 10 kg of sugar, 10 kg rice and 1.8 lt. of cooking oil, 12 canned beans and 900 gr. milk powder to hundreds of families fighting hunger in Al-Hudeyde region from Yemen.
Since 2015 that Yemen civil war began in, more than 20,000 were killed. 2,400 children have been killed, more than 3,600 injured, and thousands of people have been killed or injured. Epidemics are increasing in Yemen which are experiencing a crisis in many issues especially health due to the lack of access to clean water, malnutrition, shortages in medicines and medical supplies every day. The ongoing conflicts, successive attacks, insecurity, and violence prevent us from reaching the neediest people.
22 million people without accepting 11 million children, who constitute 75 percent of the population, live in need of humanitarian assistance and protection. Kemal Ozdal, President of Sadakatasi Association made a statement that 'We witness a human plight due to the civil war in Yemen. Millions of people need help. According to information and images from local sources in the region, it is not the same as the humanitarian plight in Syria's Eastern Ghouta region last year but the humanitarian plight in Yemen bigger than it East Guta 10 times. Also, people die from hunger.
In the first stage, emergency aid team distributed food packages to hundreds of families. In the continuation of our relief works, we will make our Yemeni brothers feel that they are not alone in their periods of misery by distributing medical supplies, hygiene packages, clean drinking water, food parcels.
