Within Ramadan aid efforts, the Distribution of food packages and ıftar meals was performed in Yemen struggling with the civil war.
Our association carries out Ramadan works initiated with
the call of “We are together in this Ramadan”. In the scope of the aid, food
and iftar packages were delivered to families living in Yemen’s Marib and Taiz
regions by our relief team.
General View of Yemen
Due to the famine and economic crises in Yemen,
people are unable to provide food. Every 10 minutes in the country, a child
dies from malnutrition. Many people hold to life by eating tree leaves. 24
million people in the country live in need of help and protection. Epidemics
are increasing day by day due to lack of access to clean water, malnutrition,
shortages in medicines and medical supplies.
Food Packages to 1600 Families
The distribution of 1600 food packages consisting of
rice, sugar, salt, oil, tea, vegetable, tomato paste, and canned goods was
carried out to families living in the camps in Marib and Taiz regions.
Distribution of Iftar Meal
Iftar meals have been distributed to 500 families living in the camps in Marib and Taiz regions. With the distribution that will continue until the end of Ramadan, 15 thousand of ıftar meals will be distributed in total.
As chairman of Sadakatasi Kemal Ozdal said in a statement: "Yemen, where is struggling with civil war,
economic problems, and famine, entered Ramadan under difficult conditions this
year. Within the scope of Ramadan aid, we distribute food packages and iftar
meals in the region. We will continue to support our brothers and sisters
throughout Ramadan by adding fitrah and zakat distributions to our aid".

The association determined the cost of food packages and eid clothes as ₺200, fitrah ₺28, and iftar ₺20.
