In Pakistan, where a national emergency has been declared due to monsoon rains, the number of people who have died in heavy rains has increased to a thousand. Noting that 30 million people were affected by the disaster, officials call for international help.
In Pakistan, the monsoon rains that started in mid-June and are still continuing have turned into a disaster. Climate Change Minister Sheery Rehman express that the south of the country was almost completely submerged and people have reached high points.
In some cities, the number of people who have passed away because of the rains that have continued for almost 3 months has exceeded 900. 343 children have passed away in addition to 198 women.
Officials state that the floods have affected 30 million people, many of whom were displaced. Across the country, 670,328 houses were damaged and 145 bridges were destroyed. The floods also damaged 3,082 kilometers of roads.
