In December 2016, Aleppo was heavily bombed. We went to Idlib as an immediate aid team to help people who had fled Aleppo and live in tent cities and were in need of help. It was snowing in the area. It was very cold and it was mud everywhere. We started to distribute blankets, cleaning supplies, boots, coats and food packages for those living in the tent city.
Vehicles carrying aid supplies were unable to enter the camp due to mud on the ground. We took the stuff out of the vehicles and carried them to the camp. The distribution of relief materials in the first vehicle was over. While waiting for the other vehicle to arrive, I went to the children gathered inside the camp as we were in the foreign geography. Prying eyes surrounded us. There were no boots on the children's feet or anything wintery. They were walking around in slippers and they did not have socks. This view tuged at us heartstrings. I noticed a kid. The kid was like freezing. I was cut to the heart when I saw the kid like that. I went to get boots and socks immediately to dress the kid. I took on my lap and tried to warm her feet with my breath. Then I took off my beanie and warmed her feet. At that time, my friend unlaced the boot he brought. We dressed the kid her sock and boots.
Then we did three more days of relief work in the same area. We distributed boots and blankets to all the children without exception. at least, we ensured that they dressed boots on their feet and coats during this harsh winter months,
