Winter reliefs, initiated with the call of 'winter relief from top to toe', were distributed to needy in Arsel Camp in Lebanon, where Palestinian refugees lived.

Syrian Refugees living in Arsel Camp meet the harsh winter conditions in tents where they have set up. Diesel oill and clothing reliefs were distributed in Arsel Camp, where the freezing deaths occurred.

In the Arsal region in northeastern Lebanon, winter is a hard period for refugees because their tents are endurable for winter conditions and diesel for stoves cannot be found. The camps, which house Syrian refugees, were covered in snow. Calls are rising for help from the area where freezing deaths.

Arsel Refugee Camp, where electricity and water shortages are experienced, has been designated as a crisis zone by our Association. Diesel to use as fuel to about 1,300 Syrian families living in the camp and winter clothes to 21,000 people were distributed.

9 people froze to death

Nine Syrian refugees froze to death in the region, where the winter season is harsh. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees informed last month that the number of Syrian refugees registered in Lebanon had fallen to 997,905. Lebanese authorities claim that there are about 1.5 million Syrian refugees in the country.
